APOSTLES-TODAY - GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION
Participants agree to:
Demonstrate agape love and diplomacy when contributing to the discussions;
Resist the temptation to flame or to use antagonistic criticism;
Treat others as you want to be treated: with love, dignity, and respect;
Respect the confidentiality of Apostles-Today - in other words not quote private or potentially sensitive material from AT unless express permission has been gained;
Resist posting messages to any other newsgroup or list without the permission of the moderator and the permission of the original author;
Respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed
Browse through the Forums to be familiar with recent discussions before posting;
Abide by guidelines implemented (as needed) by the moderator, or to withdraw from the list if unable to do so.
Treat all posts as "It's not personal". Each person posting has the right to express their view. Their viewpoint should be respected and not felt as directed.
Live Christ-like character with a good report from peers.
Keep their profile up to date.
Tips on posting to the Forums:
Post to the appropriate Area
Post about topics related to the specific Apostles Today forum. We are interested in discussion. Theological dissertations are not our focus. They have a tendency to take us in the wrong direction.
Posts tend to receive better response if they are brief; generally one or two questions will be sufficient per posting. This helps those who want to participate but do not have the time for writing long replies.
Long posts tend to be skipped over without being read due to their length. Be considerate of others time constraints while getting your point across. Allow others to respond (they may share some of what you would have said). Track your favorite posts and share anything you might have held back previously in later postings.
Please be considerate in the size attachments that you send. If the attachments are over 1 meg, please upload them to a web server and post the address instead.
DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS! It is considered shouting!
Personal letters need to go to the personal email address of the individual off the lists, however you are welcome to use the Private Message feature if you’d like. Please understand that if it isn’t relevant to all, it should be shared privately. ***(Please do not use the Private Message feature to send out newsletters, advertisements or requests for offerings.)
We suggest that you place your email address and website information in your signature so that other AT members can contact you privately or get to know you better if they’d like.
